
She Shreds is an online contest launched by Guitar Gear Gyan, powered by GearX, and sponsored by Soundhammer, Arowana Audioglyph, Fix The Noise Cables, and several other partners. The initiative was created to spotlight Indian female lead guitarists and bassists of all ages, holding Indian passports, with the aim of inspiring the next generation to pick up the instrument.
The response from the community has been overwhelming. The official She Shreds announcement video alone crossed 1 million views, highlighting the strong interest and excitement around the initiative.
From 29 incredible entries, the contest moved into the Top 10 voting phase. The community showed up in a big way:

She composes music for albums, bhajans, bhavgeet, children's albums and documentaries. She has worked with renowned singers from the industry. She teaches fingerstyle guitar at her music academy in Thane and online. Thousands of students from all over the world are learning from her. Although guitar is her main instrument, she has also learnt Santoor, Sitar, Tabla & Piano as well.

With over 30 years in Music and having written more than 200 songs, Sangeeta Hosea founded Midnight Poppies in November 2017. She sings and plays guitar along with a host of other instruments. Sangeeta has performed a variety of styles and genres and is often called to judge musical competitions such as Strawberry Fields organised by National Law School and Radio One 94.3 FM’s, Battle of the Bands.
